T.I.C.D.: Mu Ko Libong & Ko Rok
Most of Trang province's islands, and a few from Krabi, condensed.
Welcome back to the Thai Island & Coastal Directory, a book-in-progress that I expect to be the most complete guide to coastal Thailand ever written in English, covering more than 800 islands. For info on how to use the T.I.C.D. and a working Table of Contents, paddle over here. Thank you for reading!
Entering Trang province…
Trang has at least 35 islands in total, even if many of them are little more than protruding towers of limestone.
Mu Ko Libong
Extending for some 40 km with some terrain lying no more than 4 km off the coast of mainland Trang province, this nominal archipelago gathers travelers seeking brilliant natural beauty and quietude. Its 4 main islands are Ko Libong, Ko Mook, Ko Kradan and Ko Ngai. It has 9 total islands and at least 6 dive sites.
Ko Mook, Ko Ngai and Ko Kradan form a triangle of stellar islands located within 10 km of one another. Ko Libong sits 15 km further south but can also, along with distant Ko Rok to the west, be rolled into the island-hopping fun.
